Finance Assistant

In your first 6 months you’ll:

  • Take control of all day-to-day processing and posting of transactions across AP and AR.
  • Manage weekly and monthly bank account reconciliations.
  • Provide an excellent customer service both internally and externally, as the first point of contact for the Finance team. You’ll manage all queries from internal teams and external clients, resolving or escalating all finance questions where appropriate.
  • Support our Financial Controller in ad-hoc financial projects.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Experience and confident using Xero
  • Accounts payable experience
  • Accounts receivable experience
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Confident liaising with clients
  • Previous experience working in start-up/scale-up
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • 2 years+ experience in a financial role
  • Strong organisational skills

Nice to have skills:

  • Receipt bank knowledge
  • Month-end close experience

 Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining the accounts payable ledger, chasing internally for approval of invoices and setting up payments in the bank.
  • Maintaining the accounts receivables ledger, creating, issuing and chasing payments within contracted payment terms
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Liaise internally with our sales and customer success teams for PO’s, signed contracts, signed quotes and onboard new clients from a finance perspective
  • Uploading receipts into receipt bank, monitoring and approving transactions
  • Monitor expenditure and looking for cost savings were possible
  • Assisting with month end close, reviewing Accounts payable transitions and posting Accruals and prepayment
  • Setting -up and maintaining all vendor and supplier accounts as per contracted terms
  • Liaising with clients around various queries including payments, bank details, invoices, onboarding onto client invoicing platforms etc
  • Coordinating with our large clients for PO’s each quarter and building a relationship with key account managers.
  • Assisting with year-end audit
  • The role will give the right candidate room to grow and develop
